A tool I built
Runway.
One number that most people never see: how many months you could keep going if the income stopped.
Nothing here is sent anywhere. Your figures live in this browser and nowhere else.
Committed costs, per month
Your runway
6.8 months
Money runs out around May 2027. You are spending $2,650 more than you bring in each month, against a pot of $18,000.
Your biggest lever
Rent — 60% of everything you commit each month.
Taking just 20% out of that one line would add about 0.9 months to your runway. One conversation, not a lifestyle change.

Why this exists
The Federal Reserve's household survey found 63% of adults could cover a $400 emergency with cash or its equivalent — the same share as 2022 and 2023, and down from 68% in 2021. Bankrate's 2025 survey put it more bluntly: fewer than half of Americans (46%) have enough saved to cover three months of expenses, and 24% have no emergency savings at all.
What it is not
- → It is arithmetic on what you type, not a forecast. No investments, no benefits, no debt payoff.
- → It deliberately stores nothing on a server. For a tool built on someone's worst month, that is the point.
- → It is not financial advice — it is a clearer question to ask your own numbers.
